  Composition & Therapeutic Class

  • • Active Ingredients: Each capsule contains:

      • Finasteride 5 mg – a 5α-reductase inhibitor that reduces dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels to shrink the enlarged prostate.

  • mg – an α₁‑adrenergic antagonist that relaxes smooth muscles in the prostate and bladder neck to improve urinary flow .

Indication

• Used in adult men for symptomatic treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), particularly in those experiencing difficulty initiating urination, frequent urination, or reduced urinary flow .

Mechanism of Action

• Finasteride decreases prostate size by inhibiting DHT synthesis within the prostate.

• Tamsulosin improves urinary symptoms by relaxing muscular tone in the prostate and urethra through selective α₁A/α₁D receptor blockade.
